Work assistance for senior adults

​Arrowhead Economic Opportunity Agency

Arrowhead Economic Opportunity Agency (AEOA) is offering a program that provides low-income senior adults job-search assistance and temporary employment. This federal program helps Cook County residents, aged 55 and over, rejoin the workforce by working in their community while receiving on-the-job training. The program also benefits non-profit organizations by providing them a part-time temporary paid worker.  More information is available from Jan Francisco, at 218-327-6760. 

Writing workshop

Grand Marais Public Library

Grand Marais Public Library will host a writing workshop on Saturday, September 29, from 2:30 to 6 PM. The presenter is Elyse Lawrey, a published author from Duluth, Minnesota, who writes under the name Maddie LeSage. The workshop offers an opportunity to create a short piece of flash fiction (1000 words or less) by the end of the workshop. More information at (218)-387-1140.

WTIP Board of Directors Open Meeting

1712 West Highway 61

WTIP holds monthly meetings of the Board of Directors on the third Thursday of every month at 4 p.m. at WTIP, located at 1712 West Highway 61 in Grand Marais.
