Northern Gardening: Houseplants

It’s the time of year when gardeners get distracted with planning their perennial gardens, adding trees, shrubs, and fruits to their outdoor landscape, and starting seedlings for their vegetable gardens.  Houseplants usually get neglected just when they should also be getting repotted, restarted, and rejuvenated.
With that in mind, "Houseplants Year-round" is the topic for this month's Northern Gardening program. Hosts Diane Booth and Joan Farnam welcome Lisa Eldred Steinkopf, ‘The Houseplant Guru,' to the program.   She's not only known for her online presence, but has just written a book, “Houseplants:  The Complete Guide to Choosing, Growing and Caring for Indoor Plants.”  Lisa is also the proud owner of over 1,000 houseplants in her home and sunroom. U of M Extension Master Gardener Sally Berg also joins the program.
Northern Gardening is a locally produced program on WTIP, airing the second Thursday of the month from 7 to 8 p.m., and is rebroadcast the following Saturday from 6 to 7 a.m.
