A collection of Cook County residents were among the estimated 600 people who attended a public meeting held by the U.S. Forest Service in Duluth Wednesday, July 13 focusing on mining leases near the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness.

Among the North Shore residents in attendance was Cook County Commissioner Jan Sivertson. WTIP’s Joe Friedrichs spoke with Sivertson about the meeting and has this report.
