An Important Message from all of us at WTIP North Shore Radio

Dear friends:

In this time of concern over the spread and containment of COVID-19, many people are working diligently to protect essential community workforces and contain the spread of the virus.
As a trusted source of news and information for our community, we at WTIP are also taking steps to ensure we can continue to broadcast information of vital public interest.

We have taken the precautionary step of limiting access to the station to paid staff only for two weeks, starting this Wednesday, March 18.

Limiting access will significantly reduce the number of people coming and going from the station, thus reducing the possibility of transmission of the virus. We have also moved all in-person interviews to phone interviews, and eliminated in-studio live music, as part of the effort at social distancing. WTIP will be closed to the public during this time.

At the end of two weeks, we’ll review this policy in light of what is happening with the outbreak and what public health officials advise.

Our great staff will continue to bring you the programming you enjoy and have come to rely on, with some minor, temporary changes. This was a difficult decision, as volunteers drive WTIP’s programming, but one we believe necessary for the safety of everyone in our community.

We hope you’ll continue to tune in for up-to-date, accurate information on the Covid-19 situation, as well as for music, entertainment, and more. Thank you for being part of the WTIP family of listener members and for being a part of local radio.
