Great Expectations School Celebrates its 8th Grade Graduates

Because Great Expectations School in Grand Marais was not able to hold its usual 8th grade graduation ceremony due to the coronavirus restrictions, a moving celebration was held on Friday, May 29, the last day of school. Teachers, staff and parents formed a parade of about 30 vehicles and traveled from house to house to wish the “graduates” well as they leave GES for their high school journey.

Similar celebrations have taken place this week at the homes of Birch Grove Community School students and in Grand Portage for Oshki Ogimaag students.

Here’s the fun this evening at one of the stops in Grand Marais.
