Dave and Amy Freeman discuss feds choice to block copper-nickel mine near BWCAW

On Tuesday, the federal government announced it will not renew the expired mineral leases of Twin Metals Minnesota. 

The U.S. Forest Service said it also wants to protect 234,000 acres outside the BWCAW from any mining, all of which is inside Minnesota’s Superior National Forest. 

WTIP’s Joe Friedrichs spoke with Dave and Amy Freeman to get their reaction to the news about Twin Metals and the decision to not renew the expired mineral leases.
