Karen Sunderman is the producer of Making It Up North, a program produced at the regional PBS affiliate WDSE in Duluth.

Making it Up North
features innovators and artists from across northern Minnesota who are finding rewards by doing what they love.

Season three of the program airs on the local PBS network Thursday, Jan. 9 at 8 p.m. The episode features a variety of artists from North House Folk School.

WTIP’s Joe Friedrichs spoke with Sunderman about her visit to Grand Marais to record this episode. The audio of that conversation is shared below.

During the interview Sunderman says the team from Making It Up North is looking for tips on how to connect with local and regional artists who make the objects people use for outdoor recreation and adventure in the area. This could include people who make snowshoes, skis or anything that is used as an instrument of adventure. To submit a possible candidate to be featured on the program, click here.
