North Shore-inspired woodblock prints, "Northern Horizon" show

Printmaking artist and art educator, Nan Onkka, brings her North Shore-inspired woodblock prints, "Northern Horizon", to the JHP Art Gallery.  Nan specializes in reductive woodblock printmaking and finds inspiration in the natural world around her and the exhibit focuses on the process so that viewers understand the steps taken to create the image.

Gallery Hours are Thursdays, 1-4 pm, Fridays and Saturdays 10 am - 4 pm, and Sundays 10 am - 2 pm.  The exhibit will be on display through May 23.

Kindergarten Round Up at Sawtooth Elementary

School District 166 would like to remind parents that the Sawtooth Mountain Elementary Kindergarten Round-Up Day will be Monday, May 17.
For the event, children come for two hours (without parents). 
Due to COVID-19 protocols, all activities will be outdoors and children must wear masks. 
Activities will be in the school's outdoor classroom, the school forest, playground, and school garden. Please come dressed to be outside. 
Students need to be dropped off and picked up at the Outdoor Classroom, located on the southwest side of the Sawtooth Mountain Elementary parking lot. 
The deadline to sign up is May 14. The time for Kindergarten Round-Up activities are 8 - 10 a.m., 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. or 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Families can find the time that works best for them and sign up on the School's website.

Public Listening Session on Community Center Director Recruitment

“But it Was Still There” Opening Reception

The opening reception for "But It Was Still There", an exhibit by four artists who completed a residency at the Grand Marais Art Colony in 2019, will be held at Studio 21 from 5 -7 pm on Friday, May 21.  The artists are Moira Bateman, Annie Hejny, Moheb Soliman, and Nick Wroblewski.
