WTIP hosted a special community conversation Nov. 19 with local healthcare officials as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to surge in Minnesota. The hour-long program focused on hardships brought on by the pandemic as the 2020 holiday season approaches.
Media coverage of the pandemic, including our own here at WTIP, focuses a great deal on new infections, hospitalizations and deaths during the ongoing health crisis. As those numbers and stories are indeed important, we are reminded by local healthcare officials that it's also important to be mindful of one's mental health during this challenging time.
Joining WTIP’s Joe Friedrichs on the program were:
--Dr. Kurt Farchmin, a local healthcare provider in Grand Marais;
--Kristin DeArruda Wharton, the public health educator for Cook County and lead case investigator for COVID-19 contact tracing locally;
--Grace Bushard, the family and children's service supervisor for Cook County's public health and human services department;
--Marcia Hyatt, a leadership and life coach based in Cook County.
The audio below is the entire program that aired live on WTIP Nov. 19.
