WTIP is pleased to announce the release of Molly Hoffman's Field Notes: Bird Songs of Northern Woods, Volume I & II. Bird Songs of Northern Woods is the culmination of many years of hard work and dedication by Molly Hoffman, a longtime birder and volunteer at WTIP community radio in Grand Marais, Minnesota. Bird Songs of Northern Woods is a unique birding tool. It is made up of field recordings captured by Molly and relies on the power of natural sound as one would hear walking through the woods rather than as voiced-over studio productions.

Birding CD, Volume II Volume I is packed with 42 species that listeners can learn to identify by ear as well as many details about bird behavior. Volume II identifies the calls of 39 species, including the American Bittern, Northern Hawk Owl and Saw-Whet Owl.

The CDs are also fundraiser for WTIP. Molly's recording and production work, the artwork by Betsy Bowen, and the music by Critter du Jour are all donations to WTIP.
