In an effort to understand more about what college students get out of their education, this week we read a special study done by the John J. Heldrich Center for Workforce Development based at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey. The study is titled “Chasing the American Dream: Recent College Graduates and the Great Recession,” and it takes a closer look at the difficulties young people encountered as they entered a turbulent labor market and recession. We spoke with Mark Szeltner, a research assistant at the center, about the study.
