Vicki Biggs-Anderson
Vicki has been with WTIP since 2008, and is the creator and voice of Magnetic North. One of her favorite pastimes is screaming her lungs out at football games on TV. She says "I cheer for the Vikes and both the Steelers and Eagles (I'm a native Pennsylvanian). This is a new passion for me. Until I had chemo in '06 and '07 for breast cancer, I hated football. There's a moral in there somewhere I suppose."
You may be suprised to learn that Vicki loves to clean her barn and chicken coop, but despises housecleaning. Also, she says, "people assume that because I'm a writer, I'm only happy when writing and that words drop effortlessly like gumballs from my mind to my computer keyboard. In truth, I'll go to just about any lengths to avoid writing. Not quite as much as to avoid vacuuming. But close. In fact, I often vacuum just to put off sitting down and starting to write."
Her favorite quotes: "It's easier to get forgiveness than permission." She also likes "Never worry about something money can fix." And when those two don't apply, this: "No good deed goes unpunished."
When asked about WTIP, Vicki says "The thing I like most about WTIP is it's trustworthy. The desire to keep the community informed and pulling together comes through loud and clear. And it's fun. Truly amazing."
