Study on International Worker Program in Cook County

Who: 
Cook County Extension and Blandin Leadership Group

Cook County Extension and several members of the recent Blandin leadership training are partnering to do a comprehensive study entitled "International Worker Program: Short and Long Term Impacts on the Economic and Social Fabric of Cook County." Members of the community, local businesses, and international workers are invited to participate in surveys, one-on-one confidential interviews, and focus groups to document information for the study.  Data results will be shared with the community upon completion of the project, with a target date of late fall 2014. ​Fish are Important for Superior Health (FISH) Project

Sawtooth Mountain Clinic & Grand Portage Health Services

Fish are an important part of a healthy diet. Catching and eating fish are a part of the history and culture of the Great Lakes region. Sawtooth Mountain Clinic and Grand Portage Health Service are looking for women 16 to 50 to participate in study of fish consumption and mercury. The project includes one-hour free, confidential appointments; free blood testing for levels of healthful fatty acids and for mercury contamination; and instruction on how to choose the best fish for healthy eating.
