Karel began volunteering in 2009, and has hosted both the Monday Night Mix and Saturday Night Mix programs.  The majority of her favorite things are right here in Cook County!  They include:  family, kayaking, fishing, gardening, friends, good books, good wine, great music and people filled with positive energy who love life in the north woods!  She was born and raised in Cook County, but it took living in four states and two countries to figure out where she wanted to be -- here!  Her favorite quote:  "It is better to live your own destiny imperfectly than to live someone else's life with perfection."  She says, "One of the many reasons I love and adore WTIP is that it so accurately reflects the nurturing, creative, fiercely independent, yet tightly knit community that is Cook County."
