Cook County launches Thrive Together resource website
Cook County launched the Thrive Together website on Friday, June 12. The website serves as a directory for county services, including resources ranging from food access to substance use recovery.
“Thrive Together was created to address a long‑standing challenge in Cook County: while many services exist, community members often don’t know where to find them,” the county said in a press release.
Website categories on the home page include mental health, food access, child care, housing, medical providers and substance use recovery.
Users can search for specific resources or click “Browse Resources” to view a full directory that includes additional categories.
Several local organizations collaborated to develop the website, an effort that grew out of the Community Health Assessment conducted by North Shore Health and Sawtooth Mountain Clinic. The assessment led to the formation of community working groups, which ultimately resulted in the creation of the Thrive Together website.
North Shore Health CEO Kimber Wraalstad and Sawtooth Mountain Clinic CEO Kate Surbaugh presented findings from the community health assessment last year.
The county is encouraging residents to visit and explore the website, even if they do not currently need services. While the website has launched, county officials said it is not complete and “is designed to grow and evolve based on community needs.”
Cook County Public Health and Human Services staff maintain the website.
“At the bottom of every page, there is a feedback tab — if you notice a missing or inaccurate listing, or have suggestions for improvement, please share them. Your input ensures the site remains a true reflection of the resources our community needs and values,” the news release said.
