On Fridays, there's an "As Bill Sees It" Discussion Group Open Meeting, at 7:30 p.m. at the First Congregational Church in Grand Marais.

Annual County Youth production of “Twelfth Night”

The Annual County Youth production of “Twelfth Night” by William Shakespeare, is directed by Carrie Nath, and will be performed Friday, November 17th through Sunday, November 19th. The Sunday show is at 2 p.m., the others are 7 p.m.

Birch Grove benefit

The annual benefit for Birch Grove is Friday, November 17th at Papa Charlie’s. There is a lasagna dinner and silent auction from 5 to 8 p.m. and music by Mysterious Ways from 7:30 to 9:30. Details from Diane at 663-0170.
 

North Country Creation Annual Bazaar

The North Country Creation Annual Bazaar is Saturday, November 18th, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Schroeder Town Hall. You can shop from a selection of hand-crafted items and baked goods, enjoy coffee and goodies, and register for a door prize. And the Cross River Heritage Center is holding a drawing for a quilt at 2 p.m.

Writing workshop

The Grand Marais Public Library is hosting a writing workshop titled “Re-Visioning Story” on Sunday, November 19th at 2:30 p.m. The presenter will be Kate St. Vincent Vogl, the author of Lost & Found: A Memoir of Mothers, featured on national ABC news. 9th Annual “Light up a Life”

The 9th Annual “Light up a Life” offers community members the opportunity to celebrate the life of a loved one during the holiday season. Each donation lights one bulb in memory of one person on our memory tree. The Tree Lighting Ceremony will be held at the Johnson Heritage Post on Thursday, December 7th, at 5:30 p.m. More information from Kay at 387-3788. 
 

Certified energy audit funding

The Cook County Local Energy Project is working with the Opp Hvidston (VID-ston) Foundation to provide two homes or businesses in the east end of Cook County with full funding to complete certified energy audits and partial funding for making energy improvements.
