Tuesday July 26 AA Meetings

There are regular meetings of AA in Cook County. On Tuesdays there is a Big Book Study Group meeting at 6 pm at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Grand Marais.

Happy Hikers

Where: 
Canadian side of High Falls

The Happy Hikers will hike the Canadian side of the High Falls trail Wednesday, July 27th. Hikers will meet at the Performing Arts Center parking lot at 9:30 am for carpooling to the Canadian Visitors Center for a two-hour hike, followed by lunch. Passports are required. Immunization and rabies records are needed if you bring your dog. More information is available from Nancy at 512-567-0653.

Mona Abdell-Rahman (MOE-na AB-dell RAH-men) presents Qigong  (CHEE-gong) for Everyone, Wednesdays through August, from 5:30 to 6:30 pm in the Lower Level Classroom at the Sawtooth Mountain Clinic. Cook County Higher Education’s July Guest Lecture is Thursday, July 28, at 7 pm. “Restorative Justice” will be presented by Kay Pranis, author and Senior Associate at Suffolk University in Boston. Sawmill Tours

Vegetable Garden Tours

East End of Cook County and Grand Marais

There will be two vegetable garden tours Saturday, July 30th. Carpooling to the garden locations will depart from the Cook County Community Center at 8 am for the east end tour, and 1 pm for the Grand Marais tour. Registration is required by Friday, July 29th, at 387-3015. All donations will support Cook County youth garden programs.
 

"Retirement on the Gunflint” Presentation

August Kids Camp

North House Folk School offers Kids Camp August 1-4, from 9 to 4 pm each day. Camp is a variety of hands-on 
crafting activities such as blacksmithing, hide tanning, felt making, and more, for kids ages 8 to 12. 
Space is limited to 10 participants.

Understanding the Medicare System
