USDA Rural Development Agency

The USDA Rural Development Agency is accepting applications through May from people who want to purchase a home. The loans are available to low-income families and require no down payment. Sawtooth Mountain Clinic sponsors Move It in May. The virtual goal is to travel from Chena (CHEE-nah)Hot Springs, Alaska to Grand Marais. Participants can hike, bike, walk, or paddle, to track miles or minutes of physical activity. Chore Service for Seniors

Care Partners provides chore service assistance to help seniors remain in their homes. Volunteers who enjoy connecting with others are needed to help with short-term light housekeeping, yard work and other seasonal tasks, and household maintenance. The Cook County Senior Center serves lunch every weekday at noon. Today's meal is Hungarian pork, potato, veggie, fruit, milk, and dessert. Reservations must be made by 9:30 am.

Alzheimer's Communication Program May 4th

Care Partners is hosting a program on communication with Alzheimer's patients,
Thursday, May 4th, from 4 to 5:30 pm in the lower level of the Sawtooth Mountain Clinic.
Families will learn to identify alternative strategies for communicating at each stage

Wednesday AA and Al-Anon Meetings

There are regular meetings of AA, Al-Anon, and CoDA in Cook County. Wednesdays in Lutsen, there is an open meeting and discussion at the former Moondance Coffee Building at 6:30 pm; and an Al-Anon Family Support group meeting at the Lutsen Town Hall at 7 pm.

Networking Luncheon

National Day of Prayer
