Grant-writing workshop

Cook County Community Fund and Cook County Higher Education invite non-profits and community groups to a workshop teaching grant-writing techniques to Cook County area organizations. "There's a Bald Eagle in the Library!"

Disney’s Beauty and the Beast

The Grand Marais Playhouse presents Disney’s Beauty and the Beast  Thursday through Sunday, January 26th through the 29th, and Friday through Sunday, February 3rd through the 5th, at the Arrowhead Center for the Arts. Sunday performances are at 2 pm; the others 7 pm. Tickets are available at arrowhead center for the art dot tix dot com.
 

Modern Western Square Dance lessons and dancing

Modern Western Square Dance lessons and dancing will be held at the Cook County Community Center log building on Thursdays,  through April 15th, from 7:30 to 9 pm,. The dance is similar to traditional square dance, and no experience is needed for most of the lessons and you do not have to bring a partner. Three-day welding course

Cook County Higher Education is holding a three-day welding course Friday, January 27th through Sunday, January 29th at the Cook County High School industrial tech room. Instructor Don Hammer will teach students basic welding fundamentals of gas and electric welding and cutting procedures. Ham Lake fire anniversary

Iron Will

The Grand Marais Public Library hosts Joe and Robin of Iron Will Exhibition,  Friday, January 27th, at 1 pm.  They will show the sled and other items used in the Iron Will movie, talk about the process of dog sledding, and have one of their sled dogs present.
