So much of what we do  is by habit. Pyschologist Timothy Wilson, in his book Strangers To Ourselves, writes we are like a huge jumbo jet liner on autopilot.  He calls this  autopilot our adaptive unconscious. To become more intentional, we need to become observers of ourselves.
