We listen to WTIP whenever we’re on the North Shore, even on a crank radio when we’re backpacking! We listen on the internet back home in the cities too, but we missed the fund drive, sorry to be late!

Hello from Michigan! We enjoy your programing & the radio personelle. We have been streaming with you for the past few years. You have a very nice variety of music. Good luck with this year's pledge drive. Keep up the fine job. We will be listening to you over the net. Thanks again & say hello to our family in Hovland.

I have to say Radio Free Hoveland was about the best thing I have heard on the radio in a coon's age. Do you have more information about it?
We were up beginning of June and rented a house for 10 days and were amazed and pleased by the quality of what we heard didn't turn on the TV and didn't tune the radio anywhere else!! Wish we could hear it in the city ~ Dan

My husband and I live in Duluth and own a cabin on Iron Lake, not far from the campground on Cty. Rd. 92. We love the area and the people and the community on the Gunflint Trail. This cabin is our little corner of paradise, and my husband, who is an artist and photographer, has painstakingly built the interior of the cabin himself, by hand. You can imagine how sick we are about this fire for us, for everyone who has already lost a home or a cabin, and for all of us who are still in harm's way.
The reason I'm writing is to give you our profound thanks for your excellent reporting during this time. Your station has been an absolute Godsend. We are desperate for news and we tune in via the Internet for the daily fire reports and throughout the day for updates. Many of our fellow cabin owners on Cty. Rd 92, who live as far away as the Twin Cities, Chicago and Indiana, are doing the same. We're all so grateful for the lifeline that is WTIP.
Thanks again, so very much ~ Wendy and Steve, Duluth

So far away. We search for all the news we can find. I was happy to listen to your streaming on Thursday night. Usually after 10 minutes or so the stream goes away and it says that I havae "maxed" out. Unbelievable tragedy. So very sorry. So sad. Thanks for keeping us posted on the ungoing activities. When something gets decided on how we can help, let us know. PS
Love your music, thank you!

I just wanted to take a moment and thank you for your live broadcasts and interviews which are giving us the latest information on the Ham Lake fire. Last night, here in Illinois, the entire family was gathered around the laptop listening. You are a life line to us, as we sit here and wonder and worry about our friends and the property being destroyed up there. Thanks for all you do. It is so much appreciated. ~ Pete & Carol, Illinois

I just wanted to let you know that I love your station, and truly appreciate the unique and informative programming that you offer. I'm listening from Boone, NC, high up in the Appalachian Mountains. Thank you so much for what you do, and keep up the great work! ~ Duncan

I have listened for years during my summers in the Arrowhead region. Now, I'm continuing to keep in touch via the internet here in San Antonio, Texas. The temperature will seem a bit cooler this summer when I'm listening to North Shore Radio! ~ Andrew, San Antonio

Just finished streaming your show "grappling with growth" from down here in the Cities. We are long-term landowners (and visitors to/enjoyers of the area) who are only now building in preparation for full-time living in Grand Marais. It's really helpful to hear these discussions and to consider with you how to minimize harm and benefit all. Thanks especially to Bob Carter for his considered and considerate hosting. Please let’s keep this conversation going in this public forum. ~ Veronica, St. Paul

Displaced northern people are we--a "son" meets an "sen," and exchenge vowels, then travel home to a place he ran away from and she needed to discover. Now, in the prairie city, beneath the cold light of neon and dark air, we remember stars warming us, the whispers of birch. We come home, not only to the stars, but to the voices that carry across the wire. We hope to speak to you always. ~ Beth & Pete, Des Moines

Your "Small Change" fans in Hovland would like to see another hour of trivia...whether it be another hour on Friday night or even perhaps another night. We have a great time getting together with friends and trying to get through with our answers! WTIP is true community radio as it brings our little community together on Friday nights! ~ Mary, Hovland

We are regular Sunday night country classic fans and would like to say Carah did a great job - as do all the hosts!!!

Wow! I thought I was being hopelessly optimistic when I keyed in a search on the internet for a broadcast of the Section 7A Girls' Basketball semifinal game.
I was surprised enough to find that I could listen to the game live from the Cities, but to hear it covered by two announcers who really knew what they were doing was just phenomenal. Thanks for great play-by-play! ~Bruce, Twin Cities

I saw your posting to the FOLKDJ-L earlier this week and decided to check out the WTIP schedule. Am I glad I did! What a gem of a station. Your Thursday night folk music shows were a hit at the observatory where I work on Kitt Peak in Arizona. We listened to Music for the North Shore here on the southwest desert all night long and loved it. Thanks for putting your programs out on the internet. ~George, Arizona

Can you get Rainbow Trout, Carl (Solander) and Don (Lapointe) bobbleheads on your web site? ~Jim

Your website is really, really nice!Especially got a chuckle out of the bobble head staff pictures! I just can't say how much it means to listen to WTIP as I sit in Iowa.Outside my window I have my noisy neighbors instead of Lake Superior and the smell of cow manure instead of pine trees, but it'll be okay, I've got WTIP playing. Keep up the excellent work. ~ Amber & Alice, Iowa

WTIP is the poster child for what community radio should be. Thank you for the expanded area of coverage and MOST wonderful, the internet option. There is NOTHING in the Twin Cities that even comes close to what you offer, and how you do it. MPR could (and perhaps should) learn from you. Keep doing what you do so much better than anyone else. ~S.F. Williams, St. Paul Park

There once was a town on the shore
Where reception was nothing but poor
Then along came a station
The best in the nation
How did we survive before?

I love the radio station, WTIP. I grew up as a child in Grand Marais but moved away at a young age. I've always considered the North Shore my home and really enjoy hearing the sounds of my favorite place in the world. I'm a Chief in the Navy, and I plan on retiring after 20 years (in about 18 months) and plan a long trip back up to the north shore.
Say hello to my brother, Pat Flack, and his lovely bride, Mary Jo, and to all my cousins, nieces and nephews for me, please. ~Ted, Lost in Philadelphia (Streaming WTIP on the internet!)

Congratulations on making WTIP available on a global basis by the Internet. The North Shore's friends can now stay in touch when they can't be on the shore. It's amazing what a group of volunteers can do. Keep up the great work. ~Clyde, Lutsen, MN
